Raised in a Jehovah’s Witness home, Alan struggled to obey his parents and had difficulty grasping the real purpose of his life. As a fifteen year old, he ran away from home and moved across the country to live with his grandparents. He attended church and met a Gideon at the front door, who gave him a New Testament.
